Profile

Dynasafe builds systems that contain explosions and destroy munitions, including chemical munitions. The company is based in Karlskoga, Sweden, and dates its history to 1991, when Dynasafe AB was established to develop protection against explosion effects.

More profile

A mobile explosive containment chamber was first delivered for the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, and its first chemical demilitarisation plant was delivered in 2002. The chemical product is the Static Detonation Chamber (SDC), an indirectly heated, armoured, gas-tight chamber in which munitions are heated until they burn, deflagrate or detonate, paired with an off-gas treatment system.

Dynasafe says it has delivered more than 400 explosive containment chambers and 40 chemical and conventional demilitarisation plants to public and private customers. In December 2014 Dynasafe Demil Systems finalised a 16.8 million euro turnkey contract with the Belgian Ministry of Defence for an SDC 1200C to destroy First World War chemical munitions found in Belgium; the plant at Poelkapelle was inaugurated on 19 April 2017.

On 13 July 2023 the company's chief executive acquired full ownership through the holding company Gage AB, having bought 49 per cent in 2021. A public procurement record shows that on 17 September 2026 Germany's federal environment ministry awarded Dynasafe Demil Systems, with SeaTerra and Abeking & Rasmussen, an innovation-partnership contract to develop and build an industrial plant for recovering and disposing of munitions at sea.
