Symetrica makes radiation detection and identification equipment: handheld radionuclide identifiers, backpack detectors, vehicle-mounted systems and radiation portal monitors. It was founded in January 2002 as a spin-out from the physics department of the University of Southampton and is based on Southampton Science Park, with a US subsidiary, Symetrica Inc., set up in Massachusetts in 2006.
